it really is an unbelievable honour for us that we may release this fantastic track by von spar, a track that might as well be found on their outstanding album >foreigner< from 2010. maybe it is because we are such a big label and this crude, elegiac, and emotionally mighty sound of these guys fits just perfect for us. and whoever would like get out of this tunnel of infinite deepness should rely on the remix ada comes up with. trust is good-but no doubt, control is better.

with no rest for the wicked, label exclusive artist ladzinski is back for 2011 with a solo ep jammed pack full of up front house tracks.just like that is boes most dance floor focused ep in a while with jacking 808 drum rhythms, soaring pads and plenty of hands in the air moments. all night is a true groove-a-thon that hardly lets the beat go during its nine-minute length. its a more conventional sound pushing towards tech house territory but the classic 808 drums and bouncy syncopated chords give it a fresh breath of chicago deepness..

jyc-001 is the first release from junk yard connections. a small indie-label formed by a twenty years old guy from stockholm. highvalley is a floating track with elements and inspiration from jungle like motown, but still with a steady housegroove. feel is a track with a lot of melancholy mixed with a great swing. perfect for the afterhour! jyc-001 will just be released in wax and strictly limited to 250 numbred copies.

mo 2 meaux 2 rejoins the 2 transcontinental cities, detroit/motor city with meaux, france. mo and meaux may have similar sounding names, but musically speaking, the deep, plush grooves being created are unmistakably unique.

rome, italy native fabio bacchini has been holding it down for underground house music with his label mind travel, but takes a step to the left to give us a hot little ep on transport. the roman disco ep is exactly what it says on the box: no fancy gimmicks here, this release is comprised of four solid disco house jams. the first tune >weekender< is a nice phase guitar loop jam with signature disco pulsating strings amidst the happy snapping snare beats and soul train vocal snips. next is my favorite cut, >money talks<, a straight up disco rhodes organ jam a la the crusaders. add some saxophone in there for points with ladies, and you have yourself a jam. on the flip we have >in the mood< is takes the mood a bit deeper with a nice n spacey groove amidst a rhythm heavy beat. throw some synth strings and keys riffs in there for good measure and there you have it... disco house. sometimes stays within the same formula but brings a more pulsating sound that pushes the music. the tune is still deep and groovy as the ep winds down...

evil madness has been described as the traveling wilburys of icelandic electronic music. behind the name stand men like petur eyvindsson, johann johannsson, sigtryggur berg sigmarsson, helgi thorsson and bj nilsen (who is not quite icelandic but was born in a country very near iceland). this album, >super great love<, presented by editions mego will be their 4th album since the time their formation in 2006. now for those of you reading who know the music of evil madness will know for sure that this band does what ever they damn well pleases when it comes to making the music. with >super great love< they want to get people in the good mood for the fresh new year and present them with some upbeat icelandic disko tunes.

redux kick off 2011 with an absolutely superb debut release from white elephant - a super limited 10 inch only release of rare balearic bliss! white elephant are benjamin smith (smith & mudd) and jim baron and chris todd (crazy p), so expectations for the collaboration were more than met when they delivered this sublime cut. on the flip, merc supremo mark e expertly reinterprets the stunning a side with one of his best remixes to date, keeping the vibe or the original intact, but taking it into solid, floor-shaking beatdown house territory.

b.h.f.v is the collaborative effort of arto mwambes cb funk and the live at robert johnson label manager oliver hafenbauer. originating from a cross-pollination of graffiti, train stations, red light districts and frankfurts club music roots, et 01 and et 06 are both all that those x-men and egyptian lovers ever wanted. two tracks, one sound. blueeyed electro-funk with sharp snares, jeep-boomin bass and haunting melody lines. retro fascists beware! this aint a historically correct or nerdy carbon copy, but a blast from the futures past. fresh as champagne morning dew. hip hop be bop.

one of the highlights from the recent nightstarter 8 compilation – on my mind gets a remix treatment from the hottest trio of club cowboys right now. roberto rodriguez digs out his 909 out of the closet and works out a mid 90s inspired slammer, not far away from the golden times of strictly rhythm. added sample vox and the shuffled drums drives this up to the max before dropping some serious organ madness into the game. sure fire floor burner. for the vocal shy, we have included the dub as well. mano le tough brings us some of his trademark balearic deep techno which we just love to play! damn fine arrangement coupled with soothing melodies and a churner of a bassline makes this one of his finest remixes – we are happy to welcome mano on moodmusic for his first, but definitely not last guest appearance.

extremely welcome reissue of this super dope and super rare slamming early 80s boogie classic. coming out of chicago in 1983 on the tiny label full scope, this was the only release for both the label and the band but what a release!! heavily synth-laden, echoing cowbells, tight crisp percussion, superb bass - this is a fantastic example of 80s funk at its absolute best and deserves all the accolades it gets. get a copy while you can.

after the fittingly excellent 30th release from markatonio, analytic trail waste no time in delivering their next release, this time coming from scottish producer hans bouffmyhre. the paisley based artist has graced perc trax, harthouse and jochim speiths affin with his releases in the past and his production continues to garner support from a wide and revered array of djs. someone im not boldly kicks off the ep with a dark but grooved-out edge which will please fans of his previous work for perc trax wintery, late night and uncompromising techno. bermuda tool follows and pushes further into the darker territories of techno with a lazy pace providing counterpoint to a tapestry of moody effects. self punishment ramps up the energy but keeps the sinister, mechanical vibes of its counterparts while final cut planet deception closes proceedings with a drum focused workout with some killer yet simple snare work.

limited to 200 copies! in the past, new york city hasnt been considered much of a haven for forward-thinking techno and tech-house — but it is now, thanks in no small part to the resolute crew. queen of mars is a gleaming slice of timeless techno soul, its tough, throbbing rhythm overlaid with shimmering, detroit-tinged chords!

two tracks from local l.a. artists / djs santiago salazar and roque (subversive) hernandez that showcase the fundamental aesthetic of the modern classic. a side, izalco, is a deep composition that contrasts the classic sounds of chicago, new york and berlin but reinterpreted to represent the sound of the here and now. b side, retiro, is a brilliant, epic piece that brings to mind the l.a. coastline and its endless horizon -- beauty at its finest.

jackoff records is back with two excellent trax from berlins local hero oliver deutschmann. deutschmann is a regular figure behind the decks at panorama bar and also runs two labels, vidab and falkplatz, which have been making waves in the techno scene for some time now. for jackoff records, deutschmann has produced some of his most sexy house music to date but never forgetting his signature groove that no dance floor can resist. adding to the great package our friend, detroit s very own patrice scott, delivers a swirling remix full of emotion in true sistrum style. enjoy!

mr. tanaka, a hokkaido native, runs tanaka heavy industries, ltd, a manufacturing keiretsu. he also often composes and performs music alone and with his orquesta. the music of “jet set siempre no. 1&#8243,,,,,, was originally only available on cassette tape, but he has now consented to allow the release on that futuristic medium, vinyl, complete with free download code.

matthew styles remixes one of fofs biggest releases of 2010. never straying far from the source material, matthew wraps things up in his usual tight production style, employing a live bass sound and elements of the original melody to give things a tripppier edge than the originals straight up dance floor leanings.
on the flip and walking that fine line between house and techno, blm turns in a very fine and contemporary remix of drake and griifiths >the devils eyes<. dystopian in its outlook, the remix drives along with a simple but full bassline with plenty of dancefloor power.

following the success of his debut ep, komisch is delighted to put out the next instalment from sp-x. like his first release, the three tracks on field lines never end capture the essence of contemporary techno - austere and functional, yet deeply resonating. field construction starts with crackle of a broken power cable accompanying brittle percussion and a juggernaut rhythm, before dank filters, distorted riffs and a combination of doubled up claps and hissing hats bring the track to an irresistibly dark climax. internalize follows a similar path, but straight away sp-x plots a more ominous course, with a muffled filter making way for jarring riffs, a grubby acid line and killer claps. last but certainly not least, flux is constructed using dense rhythms, deadweight, iron bar beats and a howling siren riff that sounds like it came from beyond. all the while, sp-xs rasping, firing percussion weaves in and out. these are deadly effective techno tracks, streamlined for use on big speakers - but dont take our word for it, try them out yourselves!

mihalis safras is back with another big time release on trapez ltd, produced with german artist pascal mollin. they have announced to go stronger on to the techno side with this release, but we certainly see the roots in post detroit and chicago house.
